In January 2022, Rachel Keeling Nursery School entered a federation with Children's House Nursery School as part of a sustainability measure. At the time we knew this was the first step towards a longer term solution. We now find ourselves in the position where we need to act to further secure the outstanding provision on the Rachel Keeling site for generations to come.
The governors of Children’s House and Rachel Keeling Nursery Federation proposed to end the current federation and considering a proposal to amalgamate Rachel Keeling and Globe Schools to form a single school with a single governing body, with nursery provision continuing on the Rachel Keeling site.
The proposed amalgamation will come into place on 1 September 2025 and children will continue to attend the Rachel Keeling Nursery site for their nursery education.
The school level consultation ran from Monday 9 September - Monday 14 October 2024. The report by Helen Jenner is below.
Following this first consultation, governors of Children's House and Rachel Keeling Nursery School agreed unanimously with the proposal to end the federation between our two schools. They voted unanimously with governors of Globe Primary School to proceed to local authority consultation to amalgamate.
The statutory notice for local authority consultation was passed by cabinet on 29 January 2025.
On 30 April 2025, the Local Authority decided to progress the amalgamation of our two excellent schools, providing protection for quality education in Globe Town.
The council decision can be found in the document below (Paragraph 6.5).
This term work will continue to build our strong partnership and we look forward to an exciting new chapter for our provision from September 1st 2025.
