Ramadan Mubarak

We follow the seasons and festivals of the year at Rachel Keeling Nursery School.
So many of our wonderful community are observing the Holy Month of Ramadan at the moment.

Children have been supported to explore some Islamic artefacts: books, clothing, fabric and photographs.
Children have been sharing talk and listening to each other talk about different ways their family celebrate and come together for different celebrations.
We have been observing the moon as it has been visible most days in our garden. 
Children have been using information and story books and asking questions, finding out how some Muslims around the world observe Ramadan.
They have been following recipes to make Ramadan Moon Biscuits: children worked together, following the recipe, measuring ingredients, taking turns and having conversations as they made the biscuits.
They then shared them with their friends.

We will be celebrating Eid by having a party in school on Tuesday 1 April. All children are invited!
