There has been a wonderful range of learning taking place in the nursery this week. Children have been writing for a purpose by writing shopping lists and buying a lovely selection of fruits. Additionally we have had children developing their understanding about 'how to keep our teeth healthy. Children have also bee involved in developing their climbing and balancing skills outside; which is very important, particularly in terms of their self esteem. Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget on Thursday 6th March is World Book Day, and we want all children and parents to dress up as favourite book characters.
We have a wonderful range of learning taking place this week, including the learning about Chinese New Year. We have had children involved in working with the fabulous Step Out Arts Dance company in developing their understanding about Chinese New. Through this process children have been involved in lion dancing, exploring Chinese writing as well as cooking a variety of Chinese foods.
Next week the school will be closed for half term and look forward to seeing you all on Monday 24th February. Have a lovely half term break. A very special welcome to all our new children and families who started nursery this week.
There has been a rich range of learning taking place in the nursery, from some children involved in developing their counting skills and number recognition through re-telling the wonderful story 'ten in the bed'; to children learning about the story about Chinese new year. Additionally, we have had some children developing their curiosity and problem solving skills through investigating old CD players and computers, as well as children writing labels around the garden. Next week we have the wonderful 'Step Out Arts' company coming on Tuesday to expose the children to a rich range of Chinese cultural experiences; including lion dancing and ribbon dancing! Please don't forget to use the toy library every Friday morning or afternoon! Have a lovely weekend! Ben Hasan Head Teacher |
