And just like that, the world at Rachel Keeling Nursery School is settling back down.
With many families deciding to come back to school, we are delighted to welcome our friends back. As with previous lockdowns, children, families and staff are grateful to have a sense of routine back and children have settled back in quickly, reigniting old friendships and making new ones. We are also welcoming new friends and families to the nursery and planning for exciting learning to continue. This week children have been excited to check on the birds: spotting them, cleaning their feeding stations and making bird seed cake to help them in the cold weather. Woodwork has been popular, with children being supported to use the tools safely and with accuracy whilst exploring the wood offcuts we have salvaged. Sharing food, drink and baking have also support everyone's wellbeing across the nursery and children have enjoyed every opportunity to share talk and play. An interest in world animals and small world play is leading to some interesting conversations which may lead onto some deeper learning next week. We are also pleased that families are already borrowing the balance bikes: please speak to your key worker if you would like to borrow a bike and helmet for the weekend. Most of you are at home at the moment.
I hope you have been enjoying the snow, did you: Touch it? Taste it? Feel it? Walk in it? Build with it? Sledge in it? The magic of watching the snow fall is wonderful. Sitting inside with a blanket, a story and a hot chocolate is so cosy. Our garden at school is looking like a winter wonderland but signs of spring are coming through. Enjoy yourselves, whatever the weather and we will see you back in school from Monday 22 February. Remember you can send a photo of your snow adventures to Becky head@rachelkeeling.towerhamlets.sch.uk |
