This week the children have made the most of the sunshine and spent long periods in the garden. It has been a joy to see their confidence and climbing ability develop. Children have begun to film their achievements and share them with friends and family to celebrate. Watch this space for more films coming to our website!
The chicks have provided a wonderful hands-on experience for raising living things and the children have taken increasing responsibility for their care. We said goodbye to some of the chicks when they went back to the farm and friends of the nursery also gave homes to some of the chicks. There has been much excitement in the nursery this week with the arrival of some mysterious eggs. Children observed and were encouraged to predict what was inside. Spiders, chicks, ducks, crocodiles and dinosaurs were some of the ideas. Ten beautiful chicks hatched and children have observed changes happening.
Children have been investigating dark spaces by creating a dark room and using a range of light resources to explore. The balance between fun and fear created a lot of excitement and children developed the ability to manage the area safely and independently. |
