The children have been involved in a wide range of learning including learning about two dimensional shapes as well as how to care for living things. In this latter regard the children have been involved in handling the chicks which they have been observing since they were originally in an incubator! Some of our children were also involved in developing their observational skills and further knowledge about the chicks, by participating in some observational drawing of the chicks.
Of course we had our Summer Fete today: a huge thanks to all our parents/carers, governors and staff for all there fantastic hard work. The fete was a huge success!!! Our children have been developing their curiosity, observational skills and knowledge about the life cycle of chicks by observing initially our chick eggs, and then seeing them over time, hatch into chicks. Such experiences are particularly important for young children as they not only provide an incredibly exciting experience but also contribute to developing children's understanding about how to care for living things as well as experiencing awe and wonder! Lastly many of our children and families visited Paradise Wildlife Park for our Summer Trip. It was wonderful to see children talk with such excitement about the animals they had seen, as well as of course spend time with our wonderful parents/carers. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who came and participated in our art exhibition. The children have been developing a wide range of skills and knowledge from learning how to use saws and drills effectively, to sculpting with clay and knowing how to use a digital camera.
Please remember on Thursday 19th of June we will be going on our summer trip to Paradise Wildlife Park. Have a lovely weekend. The week has continued with a wide and enhanced range of learning experiences taking place for the children. A number of children have continued to be involved in observing the life cycle of a butterfly. Through this process the children have been involved in observing the formation of a chrysalis and of course seeing the wonder of the metamorphosis to a butterfly! We have also had a group of children developing their writing and creative skills by creating stories as well as writing shopping lists. Yahya's Mum came during this week to make a wonderful watermelon basket with some of the children. Our thanks to Yahya and his Mother. Some other children have also been involved in developing their observational and creative skills by participating in producing some still life paintings of the flowers in our garden. We still desperately need help with our Summer Fete, please see Kim if you are able to help with either bringing in a dish or supporting one of our stalls. Please remember to ensure your child has a sun hat as the weather is now becoming hotter. Have a lovely weekend! |
