Dear Parents/Carers and most importantly our children, we wish you all a very happy and safe holiday. We wish all our leavers a great start in their new schools. We look forward to seeing you all on the 4th of September.
We have had a range of learning experiences taking place over this week from children continuing to develop and consolidate their understanding about where fruits and vegetables come from and their importance in our health and well being; to deepening their understanding about wild animals. Of course the children achieved the latter by our very successful trip to Paradise Wild Life Park. Children had the opportunity to observe a range of animals in pretty close proximity! our huge thanks to all the parents/carers who were able to support us on this trip.
The children during the last week have been involved in a range of learning experiences. Most notably the children have been involved in harvesting a range of fruit and vegetables from our garden. Such experiences provide a wonderfully rich experience in terms of deepening their understanding as to where fruit and vegetables come from, as well as how good they are for our health and well being; not to mention they taste great!
We also had Hafsa's mum coming in doing some wonderful cooking with the children. Do have a look at some of the pictures below. Such experiences are important as they not only support children's understanding about how properties can change with heat, but also wonderful in raising children's self esteem! Just some things to remind all parents and carers about:
It was great seeing so many parents and carers attending our second Summer Art Exhibition. The children have truly demonstrated what incredible painters, sculptors, photographers, designers and builders they are. The work I hope demonstrates not only the breadth and depth of learning that the children are engaged in, but also the high expectations the school has of the children. Our huge thanks to Cleo (Florence's and Dolly's Mother) for facilitating the children's animation project. The staff should also be thanked for all their incredible hard work and dedication in making this happen. Below are some of the comments made by some of the parents/carers about the exhibition:
'Fantastic exhibition, very inspiring'. Very impressive the kids are all so artistic, it's fantastic. Keep it up'. 'Was lovely coming and viewing all the children's work, was a pleasure: loved it!!' 'Wonderful art work by the children; they are lovely and amazing. We loved it'. 'It was a fantastic exhibition. We loved it, especially the movie project and the dream catchers.
