A very warm welcome to all the new children and families that started at Rachel Keeling this week. Our children have been engaged in a wide range of learning experiences including: exploring and knowing how to use a range of resources as well as developing their imagination through creating a 'dinosaur's den' and fostering their curiosity by further exploring the properties of magnets. The children carried an experiment to see if magnets work in water!
Tomorrow we are having a cake sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research, and hope you all will support this very worthwhile cause. Don't forget on Saturday 27th September the school garden will be open from 10am to 12pm! Have a lovely weekend. A very warm welcome to all our new children and families who started nursery this week. During this week we have been supporting all our new children in developing their relationships with their keyworker, as well as beginning to understand how to access and use the wide range of resources within the nursery. There has also been many other aspects of learning taking place including: knowing when foods are ready to harvest, learning how to use real tools such as hammers and glue guns and exploring the concept of magnetism!
Remember next Saturday the 27th September the nursery garden will be open from 10am to 12pm!. Have a lovely weekend. A very warm welcome to all our new children and families who started this week!
There has been an extensive range of learning taking place this week. Children have been involved in learning about when to harvest fruits and vegetables, as well as developing their counting skills; learning how to use complex tools such as saws and hammers as well as developing their talk and writing skills through recording what they did over the summer break. For all our new children the focus has been on developing relationships, building confidence and separating from their main carer. It would be very helpful if parents/carers regularly talk to their children about their time in nursery, as well as choosing books with them to take home to read; this significantly supports your child's settling process. Many of the children who are staying for lunch, were involved in a teddy bear's picnic earlier on this week. The newsletter went out today; so please read it; it is also available online. Have a wonderful weekend! A very warm welcome back to all our children and families. The children have already been engaging in a wide range of learning, including: harvesting a range of fruits and vegetables from our garden, talking and writing about the various things they did over the summer holidays to sculpting with clay.
We are delighted that over the summer we have further improved the garden facilities by now having a hillock, ramp to support wheel chair access and sails to provide shade in the summer. These additions will further enhance the learning opportunities for all our children at Rachel Keeling Nursery School. Have a wonderful weekend. |
