Carols around the fire were enjoyed by the children and many families and friends of the Nursery. The rain abated, children helped to build the fire and Lize strummed her guitar. It is wonderful to have opportunities to celebrate together and enjoy the power a real campfire provides. Mince pies and tambourines accompanied the children and adults singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, When Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Thank you those who were able to join us.
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and healthy 2016. To support the children's understanding of the traditions around Christmas, a group went to the local florist today to select and take delivery of our Nursery Christmas tree. Other children excitedly sorted the decorations (and quickly realised we needed some more new ones which meant a return trip to the shops!)
The addition of the angel and lights created many opportunities for talk and communication and collaboration. Over the next two weeks, children will be learning about the Christmas Story, singing some Christmas songs and families are invited to join us for Carols around the fire in the garden. |
