During this week there has been a continuation of children sustaining interest in creating “spooky potions”. Children have collaborated, telling stories and creating rhymes and this has supported the development of language and imaginative play. This strand of learning culminated in the children creating a fire to cook “caterpillar blood” in the garden. An interest in designing and making dresses has also taken off with a child making their own “Elsa dress and shoes” out of paper. A group then were supported using fabric, needle and thread to design and make their own clothes (including an Arsenal strip!) Children demonstrated perseverance and a great sense of achievement in their work. This week we also had a small group of children and families visit The Science Museum in Kensington. Going on educational visits are a wonderful means of not only extending children's breadth of experiences, but also superb in developing their self esteem and language!
