Learning experiences that took place week commencing the 17th June

There has been a great deal of learning taking place in the nursery. Children have been continuing designing and making photo frames; they look absolutely wonderful (see below). We will be having a summer exhibition to celebrate our art work on the 4th of July from 3.15pm to 4.00pm; hope to see you all there!
The children have additionally  been extending their learning about the chicks by learning about their development, for example children have observed  and commented about the rapid changes the chicks have under taken in such a short period of time. Some  children actually created a small pen to observe the chicks in the garden and noticed them eating some worms.
The post office in Bluebell room continues to provide a wonderful stimulus for children to engage in writing and indeed some children have been exposed to writing some words phonetically.
A number of the story sessions this week have been developing children's counting skills as well as some elements of addition and subtraction.
On a very separate note I am very pleased to inform all parents/carers that Fathimah Rofe (Safiyah's Mum) and Marc Krusin (Isaac's Dad) are our two newly appointed parent Governors. Very much looking forward to working with both Fathimah and Marc.
