We have had a wonderful term and this week ended with many of us: families, children and staff singing Christmas carols around a camp fire. Also of course we have said goodbye to a number of children who will be starting primary school in January.
Can I please express my thanks and deep appreciation to all the parents/carers for your support over the years. It has been an immense honour to work in such an extraordinary community. I wish you all the very best for the future. On behalf of the staff team we wish you all a very happy festive break and wonderful new year! Our children are continuing to develop their understanding about the Christmas story, as well as enhancing their knowledge about two and three dimensional shapes.
As many parents/carers would know we had the Right Honourable Pat Glass MP visit our nursery this week. Pat Glass is the lead opposition spokesperson on the Education Select Committee; the purpose of her visit was to further understand the value of nursery schools in young childrens educational career. I would like to thank you all for making yesterday a truly memorable and very special evening. It was so lovely to see old, as well as current parents/carers, and most importantly all the children! Thank you all once again. The children have been involved in a range of learning experiences including: learning about the Christmas story by looking at artefacts, books and indeed in creating a role play area. Additionally we have had children and families attending our last maths workshop this week, where families and children were involved in making play dough as an example of how cooking can support children's mathematical development.
I am pleased to inform families the school has been awarded with a quality mark for literacy and numeracy in recognition of the effective work it does in this area. We wish you all a very happy weekend. |
