Our Rachel Keeling Values
The Rachel keeling Values underpin everything we do at Rachel Keeling. Children, families and staff worked together to create our Rachel Keeling Values in line with the British Values headings.
Everyone who comes to our school is expected to support the Rachel Keeling Values.
Democracy We have a voice.
Individual liberty We have a choice.
Rule of law We share and take turns.
Respect We show respect to everyone and everything.
Our values permeate everything we do: children refer to them to support each other, often independently problem solving and managing their own behaviour; children know they will be listened to and their words valued; many children have learned to speak up for what they believe and feel trusted to.
Families have reported the effectiveness of the Rachel Keeling Values at home and that children have shared them with wider family members.
Our children not only know the values (one child was heard reciting them to herself loudly whilst using the toilet!) but children understand them and are observed independently demonstrating them and living them.
One child who left us wrote on her leaving card to staff "Alma came from Rachel Keeling Values".
