Dear friends,
A love letter to Rachel Keeling Nursery School.
As my 14 years at Rachel Keeling Nursery School draws to a close, I wanted to write a short letter of thanks and appreciation to our wonderful family in Bethnal Green. Being part of this community has meant the world to me: as a school leader during some uncertain times over the years, to be able to hold our school, the children, the team, the families and all our friends close has been a privilege. To help children grow into independent, confident, communicators, who are joyful and compassionate has given me such a purpose in life: we need more compassion, love and joy in the world - now more than ever.
Please as we all step forward in the world, remember this, there is more that unites us than divides us.
Do not let fear, negativity and bigotry stop you from talking to your neighbour.
Say “Hello” to people in the street, in shops, on the bus.
Life is made up of small moments and these small moments matter: they come together to form bigger moments: that is life.
27 years in Tower Hamlets has helped me grow into a better human being and whatever comes next, I will take a piece of Rachel Keeling in my heart and I hope you all will too.
All my love and best wishes, Becky
PS. Oh and please get out and about and cycle!
Fun fact - did you know that I have cycled 26,083 miles since I started this job commuting to and from work. That is the equivalent of cycling more than the whole circumference of the earth! I’ve cycled around the world!
