Learning week ending 8th November 2013

A very warm welcome to all our parents/carers and children; we hope you all had a wonderful half term break. 
The week has started with a wonderful array of challenging learning experiences: including children understanding both the concept of a 'doctor's surgery' along with developing their vocabulary including such terms as: 'skull, heart, rib cage, and symptoms'.  Additionally some children have been involved in learning how to programme a simple robotic toy as well as engage in rich imaginative play using natural materials. The development of children's imagination is absolutely crucial to their overall cognitive development: consider what Albert Einstein said: " When I examine myself and my methods of thought I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge".
We also had a group of children visit the Natural History Museum to enhance their knowledge and understanding of animals and dinosaurs.the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge”.
