We have started to welcome our new families to Rachel Keeling Nursery this week. It is always such an exciting part of a child's journey to be part of.
There has been a continued interest in restaurants and children have been engaged in role play alongside peers and adults to develop their understanding of eating out. We are hoping to take a group out to China Town to celebrate Chinese New Year in February. Food has been an ongoing focus with Goldilocks and the Three Bears in the garden. Children have been retelling and acting out the story in their own words, interpreting the voices of the different characters and even merging different fairy tales (Sleeping Beauty stole some porridge!) Children have been very keen to mark make and draw and write about their stories.
Some children this term have begun to show real promise in the development of their climbing: the tree and the fire fighter pole has already been a new achievement for some of our children during the past two weeks.
